Canter and Associates is seeking a full-time Designer / Sales Support for our Salt Lake City Design Center to collaborate with the Sales Department to recommend design solutions, space planning options, provide value engineering, and evaluate orders and proposals to determine feasibility of producing design. 

The responsibilities of this position will include design and specifications, coordinating all phases of design process with salesperson and customer, working with customers to develop final approved plans, delivering client presentations, space planning and development tasks such as drawings, calculations, cost estimates and specifications.   Other responsibilities include site measurement and verification, code and regulation compliance, finish and material selection, and preparation of installation drawings. Further tasks include supporting sales team through showroom management, general coordination, and other related items such as order entry, job files, post-order questions / issues from manufacturers, and installation processes to assure client satisfaction at every step.

We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, creative and forward thinking, detail-oriented, ready to be challenged, organized and passionate about his or her work.  The successful candidate will work effectively in a team environment while also working autonomously on given tasks.  Candidates must also possess the following:

·         Bachelor’s degree (B. A. or B. S.) from CIDA accredited four year institution in Interior Design/ Architecture

·         Minimum 1-2 years experience in Design, Drafting, or Architecture sector

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills

·         Ability to handle a high volume of detailed designs, paperwork, and tasks with speed and accuracy

·         Ability to work with minimum supervision

·         Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, visualization programs

·         Previous commercial furniture experience strongly desired

·         Travel 25%

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
